SAFE ENVIRONMENT FORCED TOP LANDING
IMPORTANT NOTICE DO NOT TRY THIS IN THE AIR FIRST COME TO A SCHOOL LIKE MYSELF FREEFLIGHTBRIGHTON AND LEARN IN A SAFE ENVIRONMENT.
Your low air time and not sure when the wind picks up how to land on top with no other options.
Video will explain a method I teach at Steyning Bowl on a small slope, works well and I gone one better I simulated this on a bigger scale.
Watch the video and pick up some good tips.
Liked the vid rob. Ill have to pic your brains about that one. Its deffo worth knowing.
Its a good one to learn Mr C as we fly in ridge lift in the Uk I also have my students practice this as we have valley winds to contend with.
I find a more effective way is to pull A & D on a 4 riser or A & C on 3. This effectively stalls and then breaks the profile of the wing. Just my 2 cents
The more in put the better Mr D.B yes this does work well but your be left holding the set of risers the method I use you let go of the risers as you landing and stamp on the brakes and walk to one side.
Advantages your not stressed as a pilot and hands cannot become caught in areas like mallions and so on.
With A & D / A & C method it crumples the wing far easier, removing the internal pressure and saving you the extra walk to the side….
Plus you don’t have the leading edge diving for the floor
